MEASURES OF CENTRAL TENDENCY

DEFINITION MEASURES OF CENTRAL TENDENCY;
 A measure used to describe data; the mean, median, and mode are measures of central tendency.

Mean

• Arrange the data in ascending numerical order.

• The sum of all data, divided by how many numbers there are in the data.

 

Median

• Arrange the data in ascending numerical order.

• The middle number of the data.

• If there are 2 numbers in the middle, add them together and divide by 2.

 








 Mode 

• Arrange the data in ascending numerical order.

• The most common number.
